Classic Red Sauce Pasta Recipe

INGREDIENTS

For the Tomato Sauce

  • 5-6 diced tomatoes
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 onion
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 4-5 basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp chopped onions
  • ½ tsp chopped garlic
  • Salt to taste
  • Doctors’ Choice Refined Sunflower Oil for sauteing

For the Pasta

  • 110 gms pasta
  • 3 cups water
  • Salt to taste

PROCEDURE

For the Pasta Sauce

  • Cook all tomatoes in a pan
  • Add in the garlic cloves, onion and bay leaf 
  • Add in the water and then season the mixture with salt & sugar
  • Cover it and let the tomatoes boil. Let them cool and grind them into a puree
  • Now take a separate pan and heat some Doctors’ Choice Refined Sunflower Oil. Add in some chopped onions & garlic
  • Add in the tomato puree. Cook it all till they reduce to half. Add in the basil leaves and keep it all aside

For the Pasta

  • Boil some water with salt. Add in the pasta and let it boil. Drain it when done
  • Transfer it all to a serving dish and add in the tomato sauce to it
